Jackdaws

The jackdaws are socialising in the big old tree, preening and chattering, wiping their sturdy beaks on the knotted branches. A sudden noise and they take to the air, Black brushstrokes daubed across a steely grey sky.

"Every moment is a golden one for him who has the vision to recognize it as such." Henry Miller

Hi Suz :-)

Jackdaws are a smaller member of the crow family - they have beautiful pale blue eyes.

Here is a link (you will have to copy and paste) -

Funny, I've been reading some stories about crows written by one of my former writing students for his grandson. The picture of your jackdaws socialising has more layers than it might have!
